4. Data Collection on Our Website

Cookies and Reach Measurement

This website uses cookies for pseudonymized reach measurement, which are transmitted either from our server or the server of third parties to the user's browser. Cookies are small files that are stored on your end device. Your browser accesses these files. The use of cookies increases the user-friendliness and security of this website.

If you do not want cookies for reach measurement to be stored on your end device, you can object to the use of these files here:

Common browsers offer the setting option not to allow cookies. Note: It is not guaranteed that you will be able to access all functions of this website without restrictions if you make the corresponding settings.

Server Log Files

The provider of the pages automatically collects and stores information in so-called server log files, which your browser automatically transmits to us. These are:

  • Browser type and browser version

  • Operating system used

  • Referrer URL

  • Hostname of the accessing computer

  • Time of the server request

  • IP address

This data is not merged with other data sources.

The basis for data processing is Art. 6 para. 1 lit. f GDPR, which permits the processing of data for the fulfillment of a contract or pre-contractual measures.

SSL Encryption

To protect your transmitted data in the best possible way, the website operators use SSL encryption. You can recognize such encrypted connections by the prefix "https://" in the page link in the address line of your browser. Unencrypted pages are marked with "http://".

All data that you transmit to this website – for example, inquiries or logins – cannot be read by third parties thanks to SSL encryption.

Newsletter Subscription

We offer you a newsletter in which we inform you about current events and offers. To subscribe to the newsletter, you must provide a valid email address. By subscribing to the newsletter, you agree to receive the newsletter and the explained procedures.

We use Newsletter2Go as our newsletter software. Your data will be transmitted to Newsletter2Go GmbH. Your consent to receive the newsletter expires at the same time. You will find the link to cancel the newsletter at the end of each newsletter.

Google Fonts

Our website uses Google Fonts. These are the "Google Fonts" of Google Inc. For the European area, the company Google Ireland Limited (Gordon House, Barrow Street Dublin 4, Ireland) is responsible for all Google services.

You do not need to log in or provide a password to use Google Fonts. Furthermore, no cookies are stored in your browser. The files (CSS, fonts/fonts) are requested via the Google domains fonts.googleapis.com and fonts.gstatic.com. According to Google, the requests for CSS and fonts are completely separate from all other Google services. If you have a Google account, you do not need to worry that your Google account data will be transmitted to Google while using Google Fonts. Google records the use of CSS (Cascading Style Sheets) and the fonts used and stores this data securely. We will look at the exact data storage in more detail.

Google Analytics

Our website uses Google Analytics, a web analytics service provided by Google Ireland Limited, Gordon House, Barrow Street, Dublin 4, Ireland ("Google"). Google Analytics uses so-called "cookies," which are text files placed on your computer, to help the website analyze how users use the site. The information generated by the cookie about your use of this website is usually transmitted to a Google server and stored there.

On behalf of the operator of this website, Google will use this information to evaluate your use of the website, compile reports on website activity, and provide other services relating to website activity and internet usage to the website operator. The IP address transmitted by your browser as part of Google Analytics is not merged with other data from Google. We use Google Analytics only with activated IP anonymization. This means that the IP address of users is shortened.

Google Ads Conversion Tracking

This website uses the online advertising program "Google AdWords" and, as part of Google AdWords, conversion tracking. The conversion tracking cookie is set when a user clicks on a Google-served ad. Cookies are small text files that are stored on your computer system. These cookies expire after 30 days and are not used for personal identification. If the user visits certain pages of this website and the cookie

has not yet expired, Google and we can recognize that the user clicked on the ad and was redirected to this page. Each Google Ads customer receives a different cookie. Thus, cookies cannot be tracked across the websites of different Ads customers.

The information collected using the conversion cookie is used to generate conversion statistics for Ads customers who have opted for conversion tracking. These customers are informed of the total number of users who clicked on their ad and were redirected to a page with a conversion tracking tag. However, they do not receive any information that personally identifies users.

If you do not want to participate in tracking, you can opt out by deactivating the Google Conversion Tracking cookie in your browser settings. You will then not be included in the conversion tracking statistics.

Further information about Google’s privacy policy can be found here: http://www.google.de/policies/privacy/

Google Analytics Remarketing

Our website uses the features of Google Analytics Remarketing combined with the cross-device capabilities of Google Ads and Google Ad Manager. The provider is Google Ireland Limited, Gordon House, Barrow Street, Dublin 4, Ireland.

This feature enables advertising audiences created with Google Analytics Remarketing to be linked with the cross-device functions of Google Ads and Google Ad Manager. This allows personalized, interest-based advertising messages, which are adapted based on your previous usage and browsing behavior on one device (e.g., a smartphone), to be displayed on another of your devices (e.g., a tablet or PC).

If you have given the appropriate consent, Google will link your web and app browsing history with your Google account for this purpose. This way, the same personalized advertising messages can be delivered on each device on which you sign in with your Google account.

To support this function, Google Analytics collects Google-authenticated user IDs, which are temporarily linked to our Google Analytics data in order to define and create target audiences for cross-device advertising.

The summary of collected data in your Google account is based solely on your consent, which you can give or withdraw at Google (Art. 6 para. 1 lit. a GDPR). For data collection operations that are not merged in your Google account (e.g., because you do not have a Google account or have objected to the merge), the data processing is also based on Art. 6 para. 1 lit. a GDPR.

Because personal data may be transferred to the USA, additional safeguards are required to ensure the data protection level of the GDPR. For this purpose, we have concluded standard data protection clauses with the provider in accordance with Art. 46 para. 2 lit. c GDPR. These clauses require the recipient of the data in the USA to process the data in compliance with the European level of data protection. If this cannot be ensured even with these clauses, we strive to obtain additional guarantees and commitments from the data recipient.

You can permanently opt out of cross-device remarketing/targeting by deactivating personalized advertising in your Google account: https://adssettings.google.com/anonymous

Further information and Google's privacy policy can be found at: https://www.google.com/policies/technologies/ads/

Contact Form

When you send us inquiries via the contact form, your data from the form, including the contact details you provide, will be stored by us for the purpose of processing the inquiry and in case of follow-up questions. We do not share this data without your consent.

The processing of the data entered in the contact form is based exclusively on your consent (Art. 6 para. 1 lit. a GDPR). You can revoke this consent at any time. An informal email to us is sufficient. The legality of the data processing operations carried out up to the point of revocation remains unaffected.

The data you enter in the contact form will remain with us until you request deletion, revoke your consent to storage, or the purpose for storing the data no longer applies (e.g., after your request has been processed). Mandatory statutory provisions – especially retention periods – remain unaffected.

Disclosure of Data

We only share your personal data with third parties if:

  • you have given your express consent in accordance with Art. 6 para. 1 sentence 1 lit. a GDPR;

  • the disclosure is necessary pursuant to Art. 6 para. 1 sentence 1 lit. b GDPR for the performance of a contract with you;

  • there is a legal obligation for disclosure pursuant to Art. 6 para. 1 sentence 1 lit. c GDPR;

  • the disclosure is necessary pursuant to Art. 6 para. 1 sentence 1 lit. f GDPR to assert, exercise, or defend legal claims, and there is no reason to assume that you have an overriding legitimate interest in not disclosing your data.
